TON™ High-Copper Series

For TON 100, TON 150, TON 200, the numbers "100", "150" and "200" represents its thermal conductivity level (W/m·K). That is, the thermal conductivity of TON 100, TON 150, TON 200 is about 100, 150, 200 W/m·K respectively.

 

TON 100 is beryllium copper that combines extremely high strength and hardness with very good thermal conductivity. While TON 150 and TON 200 are beryllium-free high conductivity copper alloys that are developed to substitute beryllium coppers in applications such as plastic molds inserts, die casting plunger tips, resistance welding electrodes etc.

 

C17500, C175100 and C18150 are popular high copper alloys of American copper standard. They are called "beryllium-cobalt-copper" , "beryllium-nickel-copper" and "chromium-zirconium-copper" by chemical composition usually. TON C17500, TON C17510 and TON C18150 are produced in accordance with American standard of C17500, C17510 and C18150.

Excellent Thermal Conductivity & Electrical Conductivity

TON™ High-coppers have excellent thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity. Thermal conductivity of TON 100 is up to 107 W/m·K which is 3 to 5 times of mold steels’. TON 150 has higher thermal conductivity, which is 4 to 7 times of mold steels’. Thermal conductivity of TON 200 is 5 to 10 times comparing to mold steels’.

High Strength & High Hardness

Hardness of TON 200, TON 150 and TON 100 reaches 200HB, 260HB and 370HB respectively. Due to high hardness and strength, TON™ High-Coppers can be used successfully in wide range of applications requiring excellent conductivity with effectiveness, reliability and durability, such as injection molds, blow molds, low pressure casting molds.

Heat Resistance & Retains Strength at Elevated Temperatures

TON™ High-Coppers have good heat resistance and can retains strength at elevated temperatures. Working temperatures up to 300 degrees Celsius, strength of TON 100, TON 150, TON 200, TON C17500, TON C17510 does not decline obviously. For TON C18150, working temperatures up to 370 degrees Celsius, its strength is retained basically.

Good Corrosion Resistance

As high copper alloys, TON™ High-Coppers has very good corrosion resistance, which is very similar as pure copper. In all the typical applications listed in catalog, TON™ High-Coppers fulfil the requirements of corrosion resistance.

 

Matters Needing Attention: TON 100, TON C17500 and TON C 17510 contains beryllium which is potential risky to safety and health. Ventilation conditions should be guaranteed and adequate preventive measures should be taken during melting, welding, grinding and other processing or testing process that may cause dust or flue gas.
